Conference Venue

The historic building that is home to the Graduate School of Business and the 4-star Breakwater Lodge was built as a prison in 1859 for convicts from Britain. Prisoners worked on the construction of the breakwater which would allow the harbour to be built. Since 1991 it has served as the business school of the University of Cape Town and a luxury hotel.

South African Cuisines

South African cuisine is a unique fusion of many different external cultural influences. These include Dutch, French, Indian and Malaysian flavours and techniques that continue to make their way onto the menus of restaurants and into the homes of locals all over the country. This has translated to a smorgasbord of textures, tastes and aromas that lure visitors back to sample more of the tasty treats on offer here.

South African Cultures

South Africa has been famously referred to as the rainbow nation because it is made up of so many diverse cultures and religions.

Contained within South Africa's borders are Afrikaans, English, Ndebele, Pedi, Sotho, Swazi, Tsonga, Tswana, Venda, Xhosa, Zulu

The rich culture of each of these groups brings its own vibrancy to our diversity.

Table Mountain

Table Mountain is proud to be one of the official New 7 Wonders of Nature, and the only one to be located in an urban area, making it highly accessible. The 2011 ceremony marking this international honour was followed by a massive celebration through the streets of Cape Town as part of the city's annual switch-on of the festive lights.

Hiking or taking the revolving cable car to explore the table top is an unforgettable experience.
