The Programme committee warmly invites you to submit an abstract for the SAMS Congress
Please note that you must submit your abstract as a .tex file.
Please use this .tex file (https://tinyurl.com/y5gm5ucv) for
your abstract. Before uploading the file (below), please rename it
with your surname and initials, e.g., if your name is Andrew John Wiles,
then you should submit a file named Wiles_AJ.tex.
Special Sessions
The list of special sessions for SAMS2019:
Special Session: Graph Theory and Combinatorics
Graph theory and combinatorics belong to the strongest and most popular areas of mathematical research in South Africa. As in past years, we would like to organise a special session on these topics. The session will cover all aspects of graph theory and combinatorics (structural and enumerative). Contributions in related areas, such as combinatorial number theory, will be very welcome as well.
Session Organizers:
Eric Andriantiana (Rhodes University), E.Andriantiana@ru.ac.za
Peter Dankelmann (University of Johannesburg), pdankelmann@uj.ac.za
This session is open to contributions from participants working in all areas of functional analysis, operator theory and related topics (broadly interpreted). E.g. operator theory, operator algebras, abstract harmonic analysis, spectral theory, and all areas of topological vector spaces. Contributions on applications of functional analysis to related topics (e.g. probability theory, ergodic theory) are also welcome.
Session Organizers:
Ronalda Benjamin (Stellebosch University), ronalda@sun.ac.za
Sanne ter Horst (North West University), Sanne.TerHorst@nwu.ac.za
Miek Messerschmidt (University of Pretoria), miek.messerschmidt@up.ac.za
Special session: Categories, Algebra, Topology, and Logic (CATL2019) [In honour of Professor G.C.L.Brümmer]
The CATL2019 Special Session will be in honour of Professor Guillaume Brümmer on the occasion of his 85th birthday, and will cover: All aspects of Category Theory, various aspects of Algebra (excluding finite groups and representation theory, designs and geometries, and coding theory), all aspects of Topology, all aspects of Mathematical Logic. If you intend to present your work in our special session please send a copy of your abstract to Amartya Goswami
Session Organisers:
Themba Dube (University of South Africa), dubeta@unisa.ac.za
Amartya Goswami (University of Johannesburg), agoswami@uj.ac.za
Special session: Lie symmetries and other approaches in solving nonlinear differential equations.
Nonlinear differential equations model many physical phenomena in biology, fluid mechanics, engineering, finance, economics, etc. In general there is no theory for solving nonlinear differential equations. However, researchers have developed methods that can be employed to solve certain nonlinear differential equations.
The aim of this special session is to showcase recent progress in finding solutions to nonlinear differential equations by various methods and to stimulate collaborative research activities.
Session Organisers:
CM Khalique (North-West University), Masood.Khalique@nwu.ac.za
