Field trips will be organised before and during the KR10 conference. These include the world famous early hominin bearing cave sites of the Cradle of Humankind UNESCO World Heritage Site, the West Coast Fossil Park, local Cape wineries and the south-western most point of the African continent, the Cape Point National park.

Pre-conference fieldtrip to the UNESCO World Heritage Cradle of Humankind Join us for pre-conference excursion to the world-famous UNESCO World Heritage Site the Cradle of Humankind from Thursday, March 20, to Saturday, March 22 2025. Delegates are requested to assemble at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg on the morning of Thursday 20 March 2025 (details to follow). Travel arrangements to the University are for your own account. Over the next three days, participants will explore various cave sites and fossil repositories, gaining deep insights into our shared human history. All transport, accommodation, breakfast and dinners are included; delegates will need to pay for two lunches. The trip concludes in Johannesburg on the afternoon of Saturday, March 22. Delegates will then make their own travel arrangements to Cape Town, in preparation for the start of KR10 on Sunday, March 23. Cost: R8000 per person. Note that fieldtrips have a participant limit and operate on a first-come first-served basis. The organisers also reserve the right to cancel fieldtrips if there is not enough interest. All tours are a minimum of 20 pax.
