In keeping with CSSI tradition, the symposium will seek to actively bridge research and practice and to foreground implications for policy and practice in business, government, and civil society. We therefore invite abstract submissions from both academics and practitioners.  While we are especially interested in submissions with some explicit links to the conference theme, as per usual we also invite submissions on other, diverse aspects of cross-sector social interactions.

Research abstracts should clearly describe the research rationale and purpose, research question, methods, findings, and contributions.

Practice submissions should clearly outline the context and rationale of the collaborative initiative, the approach that was taken (ideally in relation to power and inclusion), the outcomes, and the key learnings/insights.

All submissions should be no more than 1000 words (excluding references) and should be submitted via the online portal by 31 October 2023. Submissions on ongoing research or practice initiatives are also welcome.  Templates have been prepared to guide the authors, however, they are not mandatory. Please be sure to include all author names and a corresponding email address, and whether you intend to present your paper in person or online.

Criteria that will be used to review and assess the abstracts include the following:

-       Thematic relevance to CSSI

-       Thematic relevance to the conference theme of power and inclusion

-       Promise of advancing the practice of cross-sector collaboration

-       Clarity of reasoning and communication

-       Contribution towards scholarly and/or practice conversation

Authors will be notified by 6 December 2023 whether their abstract has been accepted.
